Eliminate the guesswork and feel better sooner.

Are you living with a hormone imbalance?

Hormones are chemical messengers that affect the way your cells and organs function. It’s normal for hormone levels to fluctuate over time, such as with your monthly cycle, during pregnancy, or with the onset of menopause.

For women, the most pronounced hormonal changes come in the 40s and 50s, but are also seen in the mid-30s. Hormonal changes not only progress with age, but are also linked to lifestyle, diet, medications, pollution, toxins and xenoestrogens (synthetic chemicals that act as estrogen in our bodies) that we are exposed to every day.

Hormonal imbalance can be to blame for a long list of symptoms which include irregular periods and infertility, cravings and persistent weight gain, digestive problems, low libido and vaginal dryness, fatigue, anxiety, irritability and depression, insomnia and poor sleep patterns, chronic acne and night sweats

Understanding your personal hormone profile can save you money, confusion, angst, and time. This insight empowers you to determine the most beneficial supplements, exercise types, nutrition, and lifestyle adjustments for your wellness, allowing you to feel energetic, healthy, and vital.

A straightforward saliva test, conveniently delivered to your doorstep and conducted in the privacy of your home, can detect hormonal imbalances.

In a follow-up consultation, you get the chance to comprehend your current hormone profile and explore how changes to nutrition, stress management, physical activity, and daily supplements can benefit you the most.

*Please note that this test is not suitable if you are taking oral contraceptives or any form of Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT).

Saliva tests can be ordered online through a medical screening company and are mailed to your preferred address. Once you've collected your sample as per the instructions in the test kit, you mail it to the laboratory using the provided reply package. Your sample is analyzed by one of Australia’s leading pathology laboratories accredited by the National Association Testing Authority (NATA). Experienced medical professionals interpret your results, ensuring a safe and reliable service.

Once the results become available (usually 10 - 15 days later), you can book an online consultation to discuss your results and learn how to support your hormones effectively!

Advantages of Saliva Testing:

Saliva reflects free, bio-available hormone levels (unlike blood, which measures isolated levels in your blood only).

Baseline hormone levels can be assessed, and appropriate nutrition and supplements can be recommended, monitored, and adjusted.

The process is simple, painless, non-invasive, economical, and can be done at home.

Specimens are sent directly to the laboratory without requiring special handling.

Hormones Tested

This saliva hormone test includes the 3 estrogens, testosterone, progesterone, DHEA-s and cortisol. These sex hormones (in conjunction with adrenal and thyroid hormones) exert powerful effects on the body. Knowing the function and levels of these hormones is a positive step in creating hormone balance and achieving wellbeing.

  • Estrone (E1) more than 50% of estrone is secreted by the ovaries, and estrone levels generally parallel those of estradiol (E2). After menopause estrone levels increase and it becomes the predominant estrogen.

  • Estradiol (E2) Too much estradiol (estrogen) is linked to acne, constipation, loss of sex drive, depression, weight gain, PMS, period pain, and thyroid dysfunction. The effects of low estradiol are evident in menopause and include mood swings, vaginal dryness, hot flashes, night sweats and osteoporosis.

  • Estriol (E3) Estriol is the weakest of the estrogens with only 8% of the activity of estradiol. Unlike the other estrogens, estriol is not made in the ovaries and is produced at its highest level in the placenta during pregnancy. It has both estrogenic and anti-estrogen effects.

  • Estrogen Quotient: The estrogen quotient is a calculation of estriol/ (estradiol + estrone)

  • Progesterone: Progesterone helps to combat PMS and period pain issues, assists fertility and promotes calmness and quality of sleep.

  • Progesterone Ratio: The progesterone ratio is a calculation of Progesterone/ estradiol. An imbalance can be associated with issues such as PMS, infertility, endometriosis, irregular cycles, anovulation and PCOS

  • Testosterone: High levels of testosterone can include irregular periods, loss of hair from the head, excess facial and body hair, unexplained weight gain and acne. Low levels can result in a lack of zest for life, low libido, osteoporosis and cardio vascular disease.

  • DHEA-S: A long-acting adrenal hormone which regulates energy production, the immune system, brain chemistry, bone formation, muscle tone and libido.

  • Cortisol: A steroid hormone produced by the adrenal gland in response stress. The hormone is secreted in a daily pattern rising in the early morning, peaking around 7am, and declining in the evening.
